Private Practice Marketing: 3 More Things I Wish I Knew When I First Started

1) Create systems

Create systems for everything you do, especially those things you do on a regular basis.

My members and mentees ask me all the time how do I manage to get so much done. There are many reasons, and one of the biggest reasons is creating systems for things you do regularly.

Think of it in this way: SYSTEM stand for

Saves
You
Some
Time
Energy
Money

2) Have two work models

The work model that most people are familiar with is "work once, get paid once." This is the model used when you are meeting one to one with a client in your office.

Another work model that has literally changed my life is called the "work once, get paid, paid, paid, paid, paid.............

This is most easily done on the internet by creating products that people can purchase and download over and over again. Create the product once (work once) and then sell it over and over again to new customers (get paid, paid, paid, paid, etc.)

3) Creat multiple streams of income

When you have only once source of income as a private practioner you are at risk. What will you do if something happens to that stream of income? Many therapists were hurt or destroyed financially with the advent of managed care years ago, because doing therapy was their only source of income.

Some examples of mulitiple streams of income are:

-speaking
-writing
-the internet
-coaching and consulting
-and so many more.

Think of it this way - would you rather have the table that is your livlihood supported by one leg or several?

One more tip that I learned the hard way - no matter how many multiple streams of income you create, continue to take extremely wonderful care of our primary stream of income.
